GPIB-USB Firmware Update 6.95 (September 29, 2010)

This firmware update is for Prologix GPIB-USB Controller 4.2 units only (see photo) and is not suitable for Prologix GPIB-USB Controller 6.0 units.

Please follow these steps to update the firmware on our Prologix GPIB-USB Controller. See Release Notes for changes in this and previous versions.

Note that all controller settings are reset to factory defaults after an update.

Download update package and unzip it to a folder on your Windows PC.

Update firmware

1. Disconnect all cables from Prologix GPIB-USB controller.
2. Connect Prologix GPIB-USB controller to PC using a USB cable. Do not connect the controller to instruments when updating firmware.
3. Start a command prompt on the PC and change directory to the folder where you unzipped the update package
4. Type pxupdate.exe
5. Wait until update is complete, which could take up to 30 seconds.
6. Recycle power by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable.

Verify updated firmware

1. Connect to your controller using HyperTerminal.
2. Type ++ver and verify the version number has been updated:
   ++ver
